Why do guys use pick up lines but girls don’t need to?

there are all sorts of crazy pick up lines for guys to use but a girl doesn’t need any. all she has to do is say hi

1 – most men are at least a little sexually attracted to most women (something that is not true the other way around). So, usually, a woman approaching a man can do so in the knowledge he will already be at least a little attracted to her before she even speaks.

2 – women rarely approach men, so the novelty of it is impressive enough to get things going.

3 – as women are approached much more often than men (particularly the very attractive), men need something to make an impression very quickly in order to gain her interest from the off. Thus, the idea of the pick-up line was born.

Personally, I think lines are a bad idea – they’re fake, and as they are usually self-contained you can find yourself stuck for conversation once you’ve said it. And, of course, they may just result in her laughing in your face… not in a good way. Much better is something that will lead directly into conversation (though not "what’s your name", "do you come here often", "where are you from" etc… everyone gets bored of repeating those conversations, fast)

Because it’s usually up to the guy to make the first move, therefore the guy uses the pick up lines.

because the guys come to us. its up to them to initiate the first move. its not very usual that you see a girl coming up to a guy with a pick up line.
